Sauna Hats

A sauna hat insulates your head from the intense heat near the ceiling of a sauna. Since heat rises, your head and ears are exposed to the highest temperatures. A wool sauna hat slows the rate of heat transfer to your scalp, keeping your head 15–25°F cooler than the surrounding air. This allows you to stay in the sauna longer, avoid dizziness, and get more benefit from each session.

While infrared saunas operate at lower air temperatures (110–135°F) than traditional saunas, a sauna hat is still beneficial. Both materials work excellently in the sauna. Felt is great for travel since it packs flat, while thicker wool offers maximum heat protection in very hot sessions.
